Zaterdagavond was er een concert in de haven van Goedereede.
De musici konden op een groot vlot hun repertoire ten gehore brengen.
Saturdaynight there was a concert in the harbor of our little town.
's-middags werd alles in gereedheid gebracht,
In the afternoon, everything was been prepaird,
Ijssalon Ouddorp stond er met heerlijk Italiaans ijs,
There was real Italian icecream,
En om half acht kon het feest beginnen:
And half past seven the party could start:
Het muziekchoolorkest trad op, met onder meer the watermusic van Händel,

Er was folkloremuziek, met zangeres Clementine,
Irish music with singer Clementine,
En als afsluiter speelde fanfare Apollo de sterren van de hemel

En toen was het weer voorbij.

Wij hebben ervan genoten, en mijn dochter met haar vriendinnetjes ook,
We had a lovely time, and so had our daughter with her girlfriends,
Volgende week is het monumentendag. Dan is het ringsteken in Goedereede.
Ja, Goeree is niet groot, maar we weten wel hoe we moeten feesten.
Next week there's another party going on in Goedereede. You can look in the old buildings, and there is ring stabbing with horses.
